). An unlimited friendslist.
). In game chatboxes, forums and events. You want your guild chat, your alliance chat, your friends chat, but also other particular chatboxes like #gwp or top200 people looking for byob gvg. Facebook is pretty much what I use now, but it isn't in game. In my RL environment you can't really get around facebook mainly because of it's event feature; The very most efficient and easiest way to organise something (a party, concert, diner, house-meeting etc.) is by making an event. Currently i'm even making events for gvg. Sometimes days in advance, but often only hours in advance. It's perfect for checking whether you can play or not, particularly during MATs. Guild Wars 2 could benefit extraordinarily well from an event feature like this. It's the perfect way to check whether you can play a certain AT, PvE event, Monthly, or custom tournament.
). Allow you to add personal notes and tags to your friends in your friendslist and sort them into groups. I could sort my friends into PvE and PvP groups, tag some of them as Guardian or Warrior. This way if I need a Warrior for GvG all I have to do is search in my friendlist for people tagged "GvG" and warrior, this will be particularly nice if you have a friendslist containing 500+ people. Adding personal notes would also be a huge improvement. I would add to name Achmed the Archer "Serbian, 19 years old. This is a very nice guy, but only does Rogue and Mesmer, loving doing the deep runs in PvE, we used to play together in the guild Guild Wars 2 Privateers in 2013, take him for PvE or chilled GvG." This would be a perfect way to keep track of your friends, and not forget about all your old friends. I know we all have dozens if not hundreds of old friends we used to play with way back but can't remember exactly. These notes would be a godsend.
). Implement an ingame notepad that allows you to list guilds and their players, automatically records your history, and allows you to make notes. For instance I could add Eight Below [eB], I could then see which of their players are in my friendslist. It would say I've played against them 7 times last month all on my own guild. That we lost 6 times and won once, including date and rating change. Then I could add a note that each time they played Invoke Lightning spike and the map on which we played, how hard the match was etc. Being able to share these files would be awesome. If replays were saveable, you could even add the replays to this information. This would greatly increase the knowledge available of each guild and player.
). Add a playername search option. So basic, yet lacking in so many games. We've all had it countless times that we can't remember the name of some guy exactly. The game should allow you to search on keywords, then list you playernames and show you their stats, current guild and status.
). Ingame voicechat. I can't imagine guild wars 2 not having this. Especially in PvE this is a way people befriend each other so much easier because they can hear each others voice. In PvP it'll be welcome when your ventrilo server crashes. It could be very annoying in hot-join PvP, so you could just turn it off.
