Citat:
After months of organizing, we’re proud to announce today to the community the formation of the Titan Alliance, a group of guilds with a shared vision and charter that have bound together for domination in World vs. World in Guild Wars 2.
Titan Alliance is an international alliance, currently compromised of 14 guilds, spanning the US, EU and Oceanic time zones, all identified as having hardcore playstyles and boasting experienced and skilled players and organized leadership teams.. The idea behind it is to make a dynamic and fun server that will plow enemies around the clock, focusing on highly competitive WvWvW and actually shooting to be top ranked.
So far so good? Here’s the rub: It’s happening on a US server. Do we dare to venture out of our comfort zone for the glory that might await? We’re asking you.
We know there’s gonna be questions, so we tried to come up with some ourselfs and answer them already.
Who the hell are Titan Alliance?

Our Charter
The guilds of TA share the following core values, and prospective member guilds are only brought into the Alliance if there is a strong feeling that they would embody these values as well:
• Team. As an alliance we hold each guild in mutual respect and treat each member as if they were members of each other’s guilds. Above all else, we hold our shared vision as paramount, and each guild works to ensure that our members are working towards ensuring our goals are met. As such, we share a strict non-poaching policy in terms of our members, and collaborate in member recruitment efforts. When calls to arms are issued, every member of each guild participates.
• Shared Leadership, Recognition, and Accountability. Unlike other major MMO alliances, every guild within the Titan Alliance has an equal voice and does not follow in the shadow of any particular guild or leader. In a case where there is not consensus on a decision, which is rare given the shared philosophies and playstyles of our member guilds, decisions are reached by a one-vote-per-guild basis. All forms of recognition in the community and in-game are shared – from keep claiming within the game, to the video production of victories afterwards.
• Organization and Strategy. We believe that what separates a mindless zerg from a coordinated legion is the degree of organization, forethought and strategy before the battle and in the field. The leadership teams of member guilds are in constant communication, hold weekly meetings to coordinate tactics, and run cross-guild training sessions to support the skill development of all members.
• Community. We believe that community is at the heart of any successful MMO, and each member of the Titan Alliance holds this in high regard. We do not belittle other guilds or servers or talk trash against our competition, and expect the same of our members. In addition, we will be providing open TeamSpeak channels for PUG groups on our server, alongside training sessions and tutorials for players on our server who are interested in developing – and teaching – their skills.
Why would we want to join your alliance?
Glad you asked/meant to ask! We’d have around the clock WvWvW coverage and action, always something to do and being very competitive at it. Fighting our way to the highest tier where you get paired with servers that have the same strategy and around the clock coverage as our server. Thats why we believe there will be enough to do.
But can’t we do something similar on a European server?
Yes and no. Yes there will be competitive WvWvW stuff but mostly focused during euro prime time evening times, when its crazy crowded. And everything can get lost again the next morning cause there's lollerkids that don't sleep and we dont have that international setup to cover the WvWvW 24/7. Euro servers will never really have the climate for a similiar initive since Oceanics always move to NA servers and there’s alot more EU-guilds rolling on US than the opposite.
Some of us have had experience with an around the clock presence in DAOC and Lineage and think back fondly of it. But back then there were hardly or no euro servers at all, will there be enough to do at euro times?
The alliance have looked into it, they of course want good competition and stuff, they would'nt ask euro guilds if they thought we would’nt get any competition.
They really want to make the best and get the most out of the game and thats why they want Euro and Oceanic guilds along. A few big EU-guilds have apparently allready announced that they will go US and more are following. Some big UK-alliance already announced they wanted to fight Titan Alliance, so there does seem to be willing opponents.
But what about server events?
Server events and special events will not be one time. Dynamic events will be running 24/7 like in Guild Wars 1.
What if it doesnt work out and we want to run back to Europe with our tail tucked up our asses, will I go bankrupt moving?
No. Transferring is incredibly easy. In the BWE’s (and Arenanet said it will be the exact same come release) it costs 1800 crystals which you either buy for 10€ or ingame gold and it’s instant. Considering there's no subscription the POSSIBILITY of paying 10€ one time should'nt be too frightening. IF this would happen its not the end of the world either cause the euro servers would be settled a little and we could have a look to see what fits us best. But we would expect this American adventure to succeed ofcourse.
Recruiting? Will we get new friends?!
This is one of our worries. Of course you can pick up people on the server but also forum recruitment might be a big thing in GW2 since server transferring is so incredibly easy and instant. Also being part of the alliance gets you applications.
OMAJGED ALL MY RL FRIENDS ARE ON EU, HOW WILL I EVER PLAY WITH THEM?!
It is really easy to go PVE with someone on another server, no matter the region. The only thing you can’t do is WvWvW, you’re locked to your homeworld.
Will this be a Zerg, cause i reeeeeeally like Protos better?
No, the plan is definatly not to make a zerg. While we believe that any Alliance, by nature, is an effort to maximize a given server’s numbers on the battlefield, the members of the Titan Alliance believe that strategy, tactics, and communication is the secret to success over numbers. As such, we have prioritized guilds who provide strong, stable leadership teams, skilled players, ambitious goals, and a prior track record of achievement. The server the alliance picks will not be announced before we’re actually on it playing, to avoid fanboys following. It will also be a server that looks lowpop or empty. This is NOT about dominating with numbers, but instead having good guilds around the clock working together to win.
What about my PING?!
This is not a fps, having 16 or 116 ms doesn’t make or break anything. Those that recently played TERA or previously played other mmo’s on US-servers can probably attest that it hasn't been a big issue, but it is definatly something to consider. We’ve had reports of 100-150ms ping according to some other EU-guilds from the BWE. Other rumors say the datacenters will be in Texas, which might land us at ~250ms.
But what about our two friendly friend guilds?
They will be involved and can follow us ofcourse. Discussions are ongoing.
Finally and in conclusion
The overarching feeling we have right now is one of cautious optimism. Even if our optimism turns out to have been unfounded, we will still have a relatively easy time transfering back to a European server. But given the potential for fun and easy way out of a possible situation where we have no fun, we feel this is worth doing.
Our best,
